Director of Patient Services

Director of Patient Services – Full-time Position – Raleigh Location

We are seeking a strategic, patient-focused Director of Patient Services to lead all front desk, scheduling, and patient access operations across our orthopedic practice. This leader will drive operational excellence, enhance the patient experience, and ensure front-end revenue cycle accuracy across multiple clinic locations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations

  • Oversee all front desk and patient access functions across locations
  • Recruit, develop, and evaluate front office teams
  • Establish performance metrics and accountability standards
  • Standardize workflows to optimize scheduling and clinic flow

Patient Access & Revenue Cycle

  • Ensure accurate registration, insurance verification, and authorization processes
  • Monitor KPIs including registration accuracy, copay collection, authorization compliance, and scheduling lag
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle Management leadership to improve clean claim rates

Operational Excellence

  • Analyze performance data and implement workflow improvements
  • Align staffing models with patient volume
  • Support new provider onboarding and clinic expansions
  • Lead EMR and technology optimization initiatives

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure HIPAA and payer compliance
  • Support quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of healthcare operations experience
  • 2+ years in a leadership role
  • Orthopedic or multi-specialty clinic experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of front-end revenue cycle processes and EMR systems
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance improvement
