Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Podiatric Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The Podiatric PA will work closely with the supervising physician and other healthcare professionals to diagnose, treat, and manage conditions affecting the feet, ankles, and lower limbs.

This role involves conducting clinical evaluations, performing fluoroscopy-guided injections, providing patient care and contributing to improved patient outcome.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment and Diagnosis:
  • Perform detailed patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical exams, and foot/ankle assessments.
  • Diagnose a variety of podiatric conditions, including diabetic foot ulcers, fractures, bunions, hammertoes, arthritis, and infections.
  • Interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., X-rays, MRIs, lab work) and help form treatment plans.
• Treatment and Care:
  • Provide conservative and surgical treatments for podiatric conditions, including prescribing medications, performing minor procedures (e.g., nail care, wound debridement), and recommending physical therapy and orthotics.
  • Educate patients on treatment options, recovery processes, and preventive care, especially for chronic conditions like diabetes or circulatory issues.
• Patient Education:
  • Educate patients on proper foot care, including the importance of foot hygiene, wearing the appropriate footwear, and managing conditions like diabetes and vascular diseases.
  • Counsel patients on lifestyle modifications and preventive measures to avoid foot-related complications, especially for those at risk of developing serious foot problems.
• Collaboration and Documentation:
  • Work closely healthcare team members when developing and implementing treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records for all patients, documenting clinical notes, treatment plans, and progress updates.
  • Ensure that all patient care is in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Education and Licensing:
  • Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current Physician Assistant (PA) certification and state licensure.
  • Podiatric-specific training or experience is preferred but not required.
  • Certification to operate fluoroscopy guided injections preferred or must be willing to complete certification as provided by the company.

• Skills and Competencies:
  • Clinical experience in a podiatric or similar medical field is preferred.
  • Strong clinical knowledge of podiatric anatomy, pathology, and common conditions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records (EHR) and other medical software systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

• The role may require standing for long periods, assisting patients with mobility issues, and performing physical examinations.
• Ability to work in a busy clinical setting with some evening or weekend shifts based on patient needs.
