DME Orthotic Fitter

DME Orthotic Fitter - Full-Time Position - Raleigh Office. The DME/Orthotic Clinician position will be a dual-role position that will assist in dispensing all DME and orthotics prescribed by our Raleigh Orthopaedic providers as well as assist in our Orthotics and Pedorthics department as directed by the DME Supervisor. The Clinician will be responsible for all patient education on DME/Orthotics being dispensed and will be a point-of-contact for all patient concerns, questions, and issues; assist in managing and maintaining all DME inventory across all clinic locations which includes but is not limited to; checking in product, filing packing slips/purchase orders, adjusting PAR levels, conducting inventory audits, unpacking, stocking, and reordering; collect payments as it pertains to coinsurance, deductible, and/or ‘self-pay’ payments on all DME and Orthotics dispensed; collect all necessary documentation for DME claims to be filed to insurance; and assist in obtaining authorizations from insurances and/or Worker’s Compensation, when required; whether through portal access or by phone.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred: College level coursework in Health Sciences (Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, or related) or equivalent work experience in clinic, hospital, physical therapy, EMT, setting.

Required: Strong customer service, communication and problem solving skills. Must be trainable, have high attention to detail, and ability to multitask. Previous experience in healthcare setting. General knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. Computer and iPad/Tablet proficient. Able to communicate effectively and clearly with patients and/or staff (written and verbally). Must be able to work in a cooperative manner and maintain effective working relationships with management/supervisors, co-workers, customers, and vendors.

Must be able to travel to other site locations as required.
